A Quick Multiple Choice Question:

The night before United Board of Director meetings, board members stay at:

A. The Hilton

B. The Westin

C. The Ritz Carlton

D. Home

If you answered C. The Ritz Carlton, you’re correct. Bonus points if you can answer how this is justified in an airline that is raising fares virtually weekly, adding fees and restrictions, slashing improvements and staff, and telling employees to do more with less.

I was told they stayed at the Four Seasons Beverly Wilshire. Either way, those were some pretty fancy digs.

The question I had - to get to LA from Chicago or other points, did they go space available (like so many other employees would have to), positive space, or private jet?

They go first class. In fact top management will displace a paying first class passenger for their own needs.

There have been times when a TED route had been substituted with an aircraft with first class when upper management was on board. Coincidence? You be the judge.
